A-List celeb’s Kiwi bubbles flute sparks online frenzy
Kiwi drinkware company Huski is bracing for a surge in global demand after musician and style icon Rihanna was spotted with one its products at a music festival in Los Angeles this week.
The singer, who has 150 million Instagram followers, was seen watching her partner perform at Tyler The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Festival at Dodger Stadium, sipping from a pink stainless steel Huski Champagne Flute.
The moment quickly triggered fan discussion and resulted in an immediate lift in online product searches worldwide.
Fans circulated slowed clips and zoomed-in screenshots across TikTok, Reddit and X, and the Huski product was identified through crowd-sourced comparisons with online listings and Amazon reviews.
The Huski Champagne Flute was seen being used by music icon Rihanna at an LA music festival.
Huski CEO, Simon Huesser, says the appearance could accelerate the company’s expansion into new markets and new product categories. He says the global festival circuit is an untapped commercial opportunity for the brand, particularly in venues where glass is prohibited.
“Most major festivals ban glass for safety reasons. When a cultural style leader is photographed using an insulated champagne flute in that environment it highlights a natural category for us to move into. There is real potential for a festival focused range,” he says.
Huesser says the appearance has sparked fresh interest in the US where insulated drinkware is often associated with rugged outdoor brands.
He says the festival images have helped redefine the category by showing insulated stemware being used in a more fashion-focused setting.
The timing of the exposure aligns with a year of rapid international growth for the business. Huski began less than a decade ago in a Taranaki farm shed with a homemade PVC prototype and has since grown into a global brand with more than 1.5 million products exported to over 50 countries.
The company won the New Zealand International Business Awards Excellence in Growing Online Sales last week and placed 22nd on the Deloitte Fast 50 index.
