Poulter’s completes Constellation wine acquisition

Poulter Family Wines has completed its acquisition of New Zealand wine brands and assets from Constellation Brands New Zealand Limited.

The acquisition includes Selaks wine, winery and vineyards in Hawke's Bay, alongside wine brands Little Harvest, The People's Wine, Young & Co., State of Light, Wild Grace, Superstate and Tipping Point.

The transaction returns the brands to local ownership under Poulter Wines, a 100% family-owned, vertically integrated New Zealand wine and beverage business.

The company says the acquisition builds on its purchase of Sacred Hill Winery in 2022 and continued investment in its facilities, including the recent expansion of its Auckland bottling facility.

“We are really excited about this acquisition because it means we can bring more of the winemaking and export process home, which is something we've been working toward for a long time,” says Sam Poulter, Head of Manufacturing and Sales.

He says the family is committed to investing in the future of Selaks and the wider eight-brand portfolio, alongside its existing brands, with an ambition to deliver quality wine across all price points from premium single-vintage releases through to accessible, everyday options.

The Poulter Family Wines portfolio is led by Chief Winemaker Nick Picone, a multiple NZ Winemaker of the Year and Winemaker of the Show title holder, and spans more than 100 SKUs sold throughout New Zealand and internationally.
