Restaurant Month returns to Auckland for August

Heart of the City will hold Restaurant Month in Auckland’s inner-city throughout August, with a range of special menus and one-off culinary events.

Selected city centre eateries will offer Restaurant Month menus at three price points ($25, $40 and $55+ per person), while diners can also book unique dining experiences featuring leading chefs such as Tony Astle, Des Harris, Tom Hishon, Fred Wong and Sean Connolly through the ‘Extraordinary Evenings’ and ‘2022 Chef’s Table Series’.

‘Social Hour’ will see some of the city’s top bars put forward their most creative cocktails, Culprit’s Trolley Dollies will serve up drag-inspired fare matched with wine, whisky and margaritas, while the AUT Gastronomy & Culinary Winter Series programme is designed to stimulate discussion and showcase the potential of food.

Six central city hotels will also host events over Restaurant Month: SO/Auckland, Hotel Britomart, QT Auckland, Pullman Auckland, Park Hyatt Auckland, and Hilton Auckland.

Heart of the City has been bringing Restaurant Month to Auckland’s city centre since 2011, and Lemongrass Productions is the Official Event Manager of Restaurant Month 2022.

Steve Armitage, Heart of the City Interim Chief Executive says: “Restaurant Month offers an exciting way for people to experience the depth of talent and breadth of cuisine on offer in the heart of the city. It’s also a great opportunity to support and celebrate our hospitality sector.”

A full list of participating restaurants and events are online now with all menus available to view from 18 July.
