Trade invited to taste South Australia

An array of South Australian wine, beer and food producers will be in Auckland at the end of October to meet local professionals in food, drink and hospitality.

Tasting South Australia will be held at Auckland’s Morningside Glasshouse on Tuesday 31 October and is an opportunity for F&B service professionals and buyers to meet with producers who are looking to establish their sales channels in New Zealand.

The Tasting South Australia showcase is free for members of the food and beverage trade to attend. Those interested can register via Eventbrite.

Attendees will be able to try products from 18 producers, including Cape Jaffa Pet Nat, Tscharke Stonewell Grenache, and Metala William Formby Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as traditional and fruited wild ales from Loophole Brewing Co.

Adelaide-based wine journalist Tony Love will be at the event to share his knowledge of and passion for South Australian wine. Adelaide is one of the Great Wine Capitals of the World and the state produces over half the entire output of Australian wine and has more than 700 wineries and 500 cellar doors across 18 sub regions.

Love is a particular expert on South Australian Grenache and the Tasting South Australia event will give wine professionals and distributors a chance to delve into a wine style that is growing in popularity across the Tasman.

Renowned Aboriginal chef Mark Olive is also part of the Trade Mission and will be preparing a collaborative lunch with Māori chef Monique Fiso, blending the indigenous food cultures of Australia and New Zealand for a select group of guests.
