New CEO for Super Liquor

Super Liquor Holdings has announced the appointment of Morgan McCann as its new Chief Executive Officer. He will take up the role from Monday 17 June.

McCann joins the national liquor retail franchise from Mico New Zealand (a division of Fletcher Building), where he has been General Manager, leading a network of 70 locations, two distribution centres and 520 people.

Prior to joining Fletcher’s, McCann was with the Foodstuffs co-operative for over 10 years, working in a range of senior leadership roles across the business that culminated in being head of New World, where he was responsible for the market and operational performance of the brand across 106 owner-operated stores.

He started his Foodstuffs career with Liquorland as National Retail Manager, after time with Lion Liquor Retail as Merchandise and Marketing Manager, and prior to that at Lion for five years.

Morgan McCann says he is very much looking forward to a return to the industry he is so passionate about, after spending more than eight years tracking it from the sidelines. “I’m delighted to be returning to the liquor retail sector, and [for] the opportunity to lead a large New Zealand franchise business in Super Liquor with franchisees that are passionate about what they do, a brand with strong heritage and the ability to drive positive outcomes in a very dynamic market.”
