NZ’s Top 100 Sommeliers revealed
The country’s best wine professionals have been recognised in the Top 100 Sommeliers New Zealand 2026.
It is the second list for New Zealand and is overseen by drinks industry platform Sommelier Edit with judging led by Master Sommelier Cameron Douglas.
Matthew Aitchison, GM of The French Café and Cassia in Auckland, topped the 2026 list. His award comes just a couple of months after he received the Sommelier Award in the MICHELIN Guide New Zealand 2026.
The 2026 Legend Award was presented to Scott Wilson for a long-standing contribution to wine service and hospitality that has left a lasting legacy on the profession in New Zealand.
Stephen Wong MW was presented with the 2026 Inspiration Award in recognition of his passion, commitment and advocacy for the sommelier community.
