Wineries honoured at NZ International Business Awards

Two wine companies have won big at the New Zealand International Business Awards.

The annual awards are held by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and recognise the country’s export success stories across a range of categories.

This year, Invivo Wines won the ‘Excellence in Brand Storytelling’ category with judges praising its disruptive marketing, labelling it impressive and daring.

Since launching in 2008, Invivo has become the largest crowdfunded beverage company in the Southern Hemisphere. It has developed long-term partnerships and brands with Graham Norton and Sarah Jessica Parker, exports to 43 countries, and even launched the world’s first winery airline, Invivo Air.

Judges also noted the company had a strong overall story and a clever way of positioning New Zealand as part of its brand story, which has helped drive its export success.

The Tōnui Māori Excellence in Export award went to te Pā Family Vineyards in Marlborough.

The Māori-owned, Marlborough-based wine producer has an award-winning wine portfolio and has helped to elevate the profile of Māori wine producers on the global stage.

The judges commended te Pā for its success in growing an export business in a competitive sector, and uplifting kotahitanga on the international stage. They said they were also impressed by the way in which its connection to te ao Māori was integrated through the organisation and the community.

Kiwi drinkware company Huski also received the award for Excellence in Growing Online Sales.
