Two Kiwi gins win World’s Best titles

Two New Zealand gins have taken out ‘World’s Best’ titles in the World Drinks Awards in London.

Arrowtown distillery Rifters won World’s Best Navy Gin for its Rifters Royal, while Coromandel Distilling’s Awildian Mānuka Gin won World’s Best Matured Gin for the second time (the gin previously won the same title in 2022).

Both gins also won Gold medals and Best in Country titles.

Rifters co-founder Stuart Clark says the win feels surreal. “To win World’s Best Gin is an incredible moment – especially knowing how tough the competition is out there. We’ve always believed in the product, but this level of recognition is a real milestone for the whole team.”

Paul Schneider of Coromandel Distilling was in London to collect their award and says they’re incredibly proud of the achievement.

Gold medals also went to:

  • Awildian Coromandel Dry Gin

  • Curiosity Curious Dry

  • Curiosity Pinot Barrel Sloe

  • Eliza’s Claim Gold Gin

  • Island Gin London Dry

  • Rifters Original Dry

  • Roots Gin Rosso Pinot Noir

  • Third Island Gin
