Live in the moment with Tohu Rewa
A stunning new brand campaign is putting Tohu Rewa Méthode Traditionnelle wines in the spotlight for Spring/ Summer 2024.
Inspired by the spirit of “matawā” – to “live in the moment” – the new campaign shows Tohu Rewa Méthode Traditionnelle wines as the perfect choice for capturing the feeling of celebration in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The range is named after New Zealand’s native honeysuckle tree, the rewarewa. In te reo Māori, “rewa” means to float or elevate, just like the bubbles in the wines.
Winemaker Lloyd Howe’s love of sparkling wine has shaped Tohu’s winemaking philosophy and the Tohu Rewa wines honour a single vintage, single varietal and single region with grapes grown in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley.
Tohu Rewa Rosé Méthode Traditionnelle is crafted using 100% Pinot Noir grapes and aged in the bottle for 50 months on lees while Tohu Blanc de Blancs Rewa Méthode Traditionnelle uses 100% Chardonnay grapes and is aged in bottle for 74 months on lees.

Premium NZ cider ripe for the picking
Lois Scott, co-owner of Peckham’s Cidery and Orchard in Upper Moutere explains why it’s time for premium NZ-made cider to take the spotlight...
For too long, consumers in New Zealand have been underserved in the cider category. International research shows cider is well established as a popular premium drinking experience in America, the UK and northern Europe.
Cider made from cider apples has complex flavours and aromas, is lower in alcohol than grape wine and gluten-free.
Premium or ‘fine’ cider made from cider apples has had very little representation in New Zealand until relatively recently, but with the general ‘craft’ movement, some great work by the New Zealand Fruit Wine and Cider Makers Association, and a handful of passionate cider-makers, Kiwi consumers are discovering what premium cider tastes like.
At Peckham’s, we’re well-positioned to embrace this growth with our fully productive cider apple orchards that are marking their 20th birthday this year. We have a range of multi-award-winning premium ciders and new orchards poised to come on stream over the next few years.

Reid + Reid now at Hancocks
Craft distillery Reid + Reid’s range is now distributed through Hancocks – offering its distinctly New Zealand gins, as well as a Bitter Aperitivo and Red Vermouth for making a truly New Zealand Negroni.
Located in Martinborough, Red + Reid was founded in 2015 by brothers Stewart and Chris Reid who wanted to challenge the perception of a “classic” gin and promote New Zealand’s unique natural flora.
Their first product was Native Gin, now Reid + Reid’s flagship product and best-seller. First created nearly a decade ago, it was one of the first locally-made gins to highlight the idea of a sense of place and to showcase New Zealand flora using mānuka, kawakawa and horopito. (Available in 700ml and 5L formats.)
Their gin offering also includes the Reid + Reid Rev. Dawson’s Gin, and Reid + Reid Zesty Lemon Gin.
Distiller Chris Reid has also created his spin on some Italian classics with a Reid + Reid Bitter Aperitivo and Red Vermouth, making it simple to create a truly New Zealand Reid + Reid Negroni.
